Tissot has a rich history, having been founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Charles-Émile Tissot, in the Swiss town of Le Locle. Since then, every timepiece produced by the brand has reflected a respect for the passage of time and a commitment to modern technology. Over the years, Tissot watches have been chosen by great athletes and artists, and the brand has become synonymous with outstanding quality in its price range. Tissot is proud of this reputation, which is also reflected in the manufacturer's credo.

Tissot also plays a significant role in the world of motorsports, having been the official timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001. This collaboration inspired this collection, which was created in the spirit of adrenaline, speed, and technological advancement.

The jewel in the crown of the collection, the Tissot T-Race MotoGP automatic watch boasts a unique appearance and technical innovations. At the heart of the watch is a skeletonized Valjoux A05.951 movement with a chronograph complication and a power reserve of 68 hours. The skeletonized, or lightened, movement means that the transparent dial and the removal of unnecessary parts allow the intricate details of the complex watch mechanism to be seen. This watch is a special edition, with a total of 2,025 pieces produced, and comes with a helmet-shaped gift box.

The movement's name comes from the term Vallée de Joux, which refers to a valley in the Jura mountains where Le Locle is located. The movement is a new development, appearing for the first time in the automatic version of the collection. It is equipped with a Nivachron™ hairspring, which is more resistant, shock-resistant, less sensitive to heat and less magnetizable.

The 45 mm diameter case is made of stainless steel, more specifically 316L alloy, which is favored by all Swiss watchmakers. The tachymeter bezel hides an interesting detail: it was inspired by the brake discs of racing cars and features a perforated surface for better cooling, while the shape of the brake pads is also visible on the right side of the watch. This chronograph and the other pieces in the collection are water-resistant to 100 meters, or 10 bar, and all models feature Super-LumiNova® phosphorescent coating for day and night readability.

The watch has three subdials: a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, and a seconds counter at 9 o'clock, while the large seconds hand serves as the chronograph seconds counter.

The next piece in the collection is the T-Race MotoGP Quartz chronograph watch. This watch has a similar appearance to its mechanical counterpart, but an important difference is that the scale on the tachymeter bezel is marked up to 366.1, commemorating the 2023 MotoGP speed record.

Tissot has fitted the watch with a comfortable black silicone strap. The case back features MotoGP engraving, while the front features three subdials serving the chronograph functions.

Unlike the mechanical version, the quartz watch features a chronograph tenth of a second hand at 2 o'clock, a seconds hand at 6 o'clock and a 30-minute counter at 10 o'clock. This quartz watch is a limited edition of only 8,000 pieces and comes in a unique helmet-shaped gift box.

The other members of the collection differ from the limited edition quartz models in their color combinations. Both have a 45 mm case with a black PVD coating. The orange and turquoise green shades of the two models give the watches an exciting, eye-catching look. The speed record mentioned earlier appears on the tachymeter bezel of both watches.

If you appreciate Swiss watchmaking traditions, technological innovations and the magic of MotoGP racing, then the Tissot T-Race collection is for you. The mechanical version offers a premium experience for lovers of traditional watchmaking, while the quartz model is perfect for those who value modern functionality and dynamic design. Regardless of your choice, every piece in the collection embodies the spirit of motorsports.
