Bell & Ross introduced its first diving watch in 1997. It was called the Hydromax and was housed in a round case. The Hydromax watch achieved a record water resistance of up to 11,100 meters. In 2007, another groundbreaking diving model came along in the form of the BR 02 with a helium valve, and since 2017, the Diver collection has existed as we know it today. From the outset, it was designed for professional divers, and its technical parameters reflected this. The new Diver was a great success. Its square BR 03 case is based on the rounded square BR 01 case, which evokes the gauges on the dashboard of fighter jets. Iconic design
One of the most interesting Divers is the BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze - a three-hand watch with a bezel and dial in harmonious brown tones that perfectly match the bronze case. At Bell & Ross, the Diver series was originally introduced in steel, but now it has been given a bronze finish that has incredible strength and charisma. This classic, historic material has always been associated with the sea, making it the ideal choice for a diving watch. Bronze is a key material in nautical design: ship windows, propellers, pendulums, sextants, compasses, and old ships... all use this metal.
Its use in the BR 03-92 Diver gives the model a retro style. It is also the material used by Captain Nemo's Nautilus, the hero of Jules Verne's novels. Bronze is riding the vintage wave, but it is not nostalgic in nature. It is used by great architects on the facades of avant-garde buildings, creating panels that reflect light in thousands of scattered flashes. A LIVING MATERIAL
Over time, bronze acquires a patina depending on the environment in which it is located. It is a living material that evolves and corrodes. This process is always different and causes the metal to fix, strengthen, and reinforce itself. In the past, sailors allowed bronze to develop naturally: when it oxidized on the surface, it was protected from external influences. Admirers of bronze appreciate its color, which resembles gold. The alloy used for the BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze is CuSn8, composed of 92% copper and 8% tin, which gives it a pink hue. Over time, the appearance of the case will evolve, making each of the 999 models unique.
The entire BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze model is decorated with bronze details. The only exceptions are the hypoallergenic stainless steel case back and the anodized aluminum bezel. The case back features a diving helmet – a historical symbol of diving. The watch comes with two straps. The matte brown leather strap with beige stitching has a strong neo-retro style that reinforces the vintage look of the BR 03-92 Diver Brown Bronze. A second black rubber strap is also available, which is much more suitable for use in water.
SWISS STANDARDS
