Limited Edition TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche
Porsche and TAG Heuer are both companies with a rich history. Their stories are similar in many ways, and they have crossed paths several times, but it was only last year that they became partners in a joint project.
One detail that connects both brands is the name Carrera. This iconic name has been made famous by both TAG Heuer watches and Porsche cars. It was therefore a natural choice for the first creative collaboration, which resulted in the new TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph model, produced in a special edition since 2021.
Special Edition TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph
Its design is based on the latest "sport" version of the Carrera chronograph with a diameter of 44 mm, introduced in 2020. The ceramic bezel with tachymeter, sporty pushers, and Caliber H02 remain unchanged from the original Carrera. What is new are a number of design elements sourced directly from Porsche.
The bezel now features the red Porsche logo in the original shape used by the car manufacturer. The numerals on the dial are in the same font as the gauges on the dashboard of the legendary "911". The dial has the texture of an asphalt road. The case back is made of sapphire, allowing a view of the Calibre H02 movement and, in particular, the steering wheel-shaped rotor. The oscillating pinion and column wheel of the chronograph mechanism highlight the long-standing commitment of both brands to absolute precision. The gray leather strap is made of the same material and stitching as Porsche car seats, but the watch is also available with a metal bracelet.
The overall color scheme of the model is in the corporate Porsche colors, with precise adherence to their Pantone shades of red, black, and gray.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph comes in a case tailored to match the interior of Porsche cars and the watch itself. The black box features the white TAG Heuer and Porsche logos, and inside the box is a black travel case with the signature red lining.
TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche Chronograph Limited Edition
This year, TAG Heuer has come up with another innovation in the form of a limited edition in a sportier style. The design elements and functional details are in yellow, the color Porsche uses for its fastest series of vehicles. It can be found in the form of the Porsche logo on the bezel, the TAG Heuer shield on the crown, and in the details of the dial and movement. Even the Superluminova luminescent elements on the hands and indices glow in the same shade of yellow in the dark.
The second color of this model is black. The yellow accents stand out beautifully, especially the different textures used on the dial and case. The smooth black ceramic bezel and velvety black DLC coating on the case, which is harder than natural diamond, contrast perfectly. The dial is as shiny as the hood of a Porsche, and the small chronograph dials have the texture of an asphalt road. The black strap has the look of durable technical fabric, but is made of high-quality leather that is very comfortable to wear.
Calibre Heuer 02
Both editions are equipped with the in-house Calibre H02 with an excellent power reserve of 80 hours. The movement is manufactured at the TAG Heuer factory in Chevenez, Switzerland, and has a total of 168 parts. Excellent measurement accuracy is ensured by a vertical clutch and the legendary column wheel, invented by Jack Heuer. Only in the special and limited edition Carrera Porsche do the rotors of the movement have the shape of a Porsche steering wheel.
