The red minute hand is striking, but not distracting. The dial is clear, easy to read, and perfectly complements the watch as a whole. The steel bracelet (the package also includes a NATO strap in a black-on-black color combination) has the same strong heritage feel as the rest of the watch.
So what are my own impressions? When I first saw the watch in a photo, my assessment was clear, quick, and uncompromising: I don't like it! But when I saw it in the display case, I hesitated. Compared to other watches, it looks robust and massive. It radiates the same kind of energy as a well-built man who has been working hard in a mine all day. The last thing you want to do is make him angry.
When I put the watch on my wrist, I was one step closer to changing my initial assessment. Despite its size, it is comfortable, mainly thanks to the bracelet, which fits the wrist very well. After wearing it all day, I had to admit that Longines Ultra-chron watches have a hidden beauty that needs to be discovered gradually and patiently. And when you succeed, you will find that it is the kind of beauty that does not fade easily and will bring you joy for a very, very long time.
