Was the collaboration between Carl Cox and Zenith a success?
Zenith presents a new watch model in collaboration with English music producer and DJ Carl Cox.
Built on the Zenith Defy Extreme model series platform, the watch has a 45 mm case diameter, elongated chronograph pushers on the right side, and a screw-down crown ensuring water resistance up to 200 meters. The iconic design is complemented by flat, anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the top and bottom of the case.
The case is made of matte steel and features elements of 18-karat yellow gold on the bezel and button guards, giving it a very subtle look. The semi-skeletonized dial features counters reminiscent of vinyl records on a mixing console, which was, after all, the inspiration for the design, and at the top of the dial is a power reserve indicator in the style of an "ON/OFF" switch.
Although the dial is truly interesting, the top orchestra is located one level below and, more importantly, is not completely hidden from the viewer's eye. The 9004 chronometer caliber is not new, but its parameters continue to take your breath away. Those familiar with El Primero know that its oscillator operates at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, or 5 Hz. For a standard chronograph, this is 28,800 (4 Hz) vibrations per hour. nbsp;
However, the 9004 caliber contains another oscillator, dedicated specifically to the chronograph, which, hold on to your hats, operates at an astonishing frequency of 360,000 vibrations per hour, or 50 Hz. In practice, this means that these watches can measure 1/100 of a second! When you start the stopwatch, the second hand circles the dial in less than a second! This is simply EXTREME.
