Longines Heritage Classic: Original aesthetics and a tribute to innovative spirit
Longines claims that the brand is driven by a constant desire to honor history, as evidenced by its new interpretation of the iconic Heritage Classic watch design. Neither heritage nor the growing demands of customers have been forgotten.

Based on the silver version introduced in 2019, Longines now offers a new interpretation of the Longines Heritage Classic model with a black sector dial. The sleek design, combined with simple lines and circles, creates a relief effect on this 38.50 mm dial. Typical dials from the 1930s were divided into several zones, each with a different finish.
In the new Heritage Classic, the matte center contrasts with the simple silver hands. The outer part of the dial is anthracite with a subtle finish that refracts light. The minimalist second hand at the 6 o'clock position is located above a distinctly grooved counter. It is a purist design refined down to the finest details, and we are sure you will agree that details matter when it comes to watches.

Although the Heritage model follows the old design, it features modern technology inside. To be more precise, nothing has fundamentally changed in mechanical movements over the centuries, but thanks to technological advances, some materials have been replaced with better and more durable ones. That is why, under the covered lid, you will find the state-of-the-art L893 caliber, which was developed exclusively by ETA for Longines.
The caliber, which comes with a 5-year warranty, features a silicon (Si14) hairspring in the oscillator. This makes the movement more resistant to magnetism and temperature changes, which significantly affects its accuracy.& nbsp; The Longines Heritage Classic will be available in two strap versions - cognac leather with gradual patina and a steel bracelet with links inspired by grains of rice.

I would go for it, but it might be worth waiting to compare both models, as this new steel bracelet looks very interesting. Even Longines points out that the use of a steel bracelet is not entirely common in the Heritage line, but in this case, it refers to steel bracelets produced in St-Immier around 1940.
For me, the Heritage line represents a nostalgic look back at the past, not only because of its beautiful dials, but also because of their size. It is true that this model is intended more for orthodox watch lovers who are not particularly robust in build. The case diameter of 38.50 mm is really small by today's standards. Thank goodness for customers who appreciate the classics. Moreover, these sector dials and the body construction remind me very much of the divine Calatrava from Patek Philippe, where purity and proportions are brought to perfection.
