In 1976 a large quartz crisis is severely hampering the stability of Swiss watchmaking. In this uneasy period, Raymond Weil decided to turn his dreams and visions into reality. Real estate in the form of a newly created watchmaking company bearing its name. It is a family-owned company, which is no longer common in the world of watches.

Raymond Weil's creations were accepted very positively in the watchmaking community, whether lay or professional. The Swiss market has become small and the demand for watches has expanded beyond Europe's borders.  The passion for watches was not the only passion that Mr. Weil was obsessed with. His second greatest love was music.

This connection can be seen in themed collection names such as Nabucco, Toccata and Parsifal. Love for music as well as for life is embodied in special limited editions such as Beatles, David Bowie or Gibson guitar maker.
