Modell: CAW218E.FC6565

The luxury watchmaker unveiled the latest model in its Monaco series, the Chronograph Racing Green, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The Monaco model family continues TAG Heuer's racing heritage, and this is the second chapter in the history of the Racing series. The new TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green joins the TAG Heuer Monaco series in celebration of historic race cars and their iconic liveries, this time paying tribute to the British colors.

TAG Heuer Monaco is synonymous with racing
TAG Heuer has always been one of the manufacturers most closely associated with motor racing, and the TAG Heuer Monaco series is an instantly recognizable embodiment of this historical fact. When the brand introduced the model in 1969, it shocked and changed the watch industry. Unlike any other watch on the market at the time, it was the first water-resistant chronograph with a square case, housing the newly developed Calibre 11 movement. The TAG Heuer Monaco is more than just a bold design solution—it is named after the legendary principality that hosts one of the most famous races in Formula 1. This connection holds a special place in the heart and history of the brand and remains an important part of TAG Heuer's identity to this day.

For many, the TAG Heuer Monaco will always be associated with one of the greatest actors of his generation, Steve McQueen. In 1970, during the filming of Le Mans, the Hollywood superstar chose the same overalls and watch brand as professional driver Jo Siffert, who prepared the actor for the film. McQueen wanted to portray his character in the film authentically, and in real life he became a true style icon, proudly wearing his Heuer Monaco chronograph.

Over the years, the TAG Heuer Monaco has evolved continuously with the incorporation of new materials, technologies, and design elements that make it a true work of art. It quickly became a symbol of the brand's avant-garde spirit. The latest version, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green, is no exception.
A reliable partner in motor racing
The unmistakable TAG Heuer Monaco has been linking the watch manufacturer with motorsport for decades. From the early 20th century to the 1960s, drivers competed with car liveries representing their countries rather than manufacturers or sponsors. Each country had its own color: Italy had bright red, Germany initially used white before switching to silver, and France's characteristic shade of blue made a comeback last year in the Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue edition. In this new chapter, it is the famous British racing green that inspired the brand's latest creation, the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green.

The distinctive shade of green associated with British motorsport has a long history. The first car to feature this color scheme was a Napier 50, which won the 1902 Gordon Bennett Cup with Selwyn Edge at the wheel, resulting in Great Britain hosting the following year's race. Today's British racing teams and renowned car manufacturers continue to use variations of this shade, making it a celebrated color in the world of motorsport and the inspiration for the new timing device.

Every element of the TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green is inspired by historic British racing cars and their white and yellow accents. Accordingly, the watch's silver sunray-brushed dial offers a timeless and elegant look, subtly reminiscent of the metal dashboard components found in sports cars of the 1920s and 1930s.
The dial is decorated with eight stacked, polished and silvered indexes and 12 light green Super-LumiNova® dots, making it easy to read the time. The faceted indices at 12 o'clock are filled with bright yellow lacquer, creating a direct link to the yellow central seconds hand of the chronograph and the yellow paintwork of certain elements of the celebrated racing cars.

The elegant green subdials are bright yet subtle in color, paying homage to the traditional racing green.
Respect for tradition is also inherent in the watch, which is why it features the historic Heuer logo, an attractive and sought-after feature for collectors and watch enthusiasts alike. In keeping with the original Monaco, the crown is located on the left side at 9 o'clock, as it was designed in 1969.

The watch is powered by a Calibre 11 automatic chronograph movement, enclosed in a sandblasted grade 2 titanium case measuring 39 mm in diameter, making it both durable and lightweight, perfect for a sporty look. It features a sapphire crystal case back, allowing a glimpse of the movement inside. The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green features a green perforated strap, in keeping with the classic British gentleman's look. The strap is secured by a titanium folding clasp bearing the vintage Heuer logo.
The TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph Racing Green is a limited edition, with "ONE OF 1000" inscribed on the case back. It comes in a uniquely designed black box and travel pouch with bright yellow stripes and decorative stitching.
