In the following article, we will take a look at Omega's new releases for this year: AquaTerra 34 and 38 mm, Seamaster Diver 300M, Speedmaster '57, Speedmaster Moonwatch Moonshine, Constellation Aventurin, and Constellation 28 mm.

The strange period continues. It began with a gradual decline and ultimately the fatal end of Baselworld, then came COVID-19, and at its apparent end, war broke out. People no longer have many reasons to be happy or to do their jobs to the best of their ability. The truth is that despite everything, the world keeps turning and we carry on. Similarly, watch brands are starting to churn out new products during this period. I miss the days when we all met in Switzerland around one table, where we could talk, laugh, have a drink... you know what I mean. Nothing can replace personal contact.

I like Omega, very much. In my opinion, over the last decade it has made a more significant leap in terms of the quality of its calibers and models than any other brand. Lots of good marketing moves and a bunch of great models. It's not that Omega is losing its identity; the Speedmaster was and will remain extraordinary, but I am bothered by the striking similarity of the models to those of its main competitor. I know that everything has already been invented, and I know that almost everything from the Speedmaster vs. Daytona era looks similar. I know that if you want to make gold Speedys and put leather straps on them, you can't avoid the similarity. I also understand the same thought processes and fundamental principles behind the proposed models, but I can't help feeling that sometimes it's a bit too much.

All the new models are nice, well-made, and despite their similarities, they will sell very well. In the previous article, I wrote about the Omega Planet Ocean Ultra Deep, so let's move on to the next one.

Omega Aqua Terra 34 and 38 mm

Omega presents twins in 34 and 38 mm versions. In this diameter, AquaTerra abandons the concept of "teak" dials, which were supposed to resemble a wooden ship deck. The brand has opted for a color palette of dials without Tiffany, as you can see in the picture. Both dial sizes will be decorated with a "sunburst" effect or lacquered. The date remains at the 6 o'clock position, and in this larger diameter, it looks like a "cut-out" hole in the dial. I don't know who Omega intends to appeal to with this model, but I can't help feeling that they have a slightly feminine look. The smaller diameter will differ from the larger one not only in the more decorative frame of the date ring, but also in the SuperLuminova-filled boat-shaped indices. In both cases, the indexes are made of white gold and applied by hand. The watch is powered by the METAS-certified OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 with a power reserve of 55 hours – valid for both the 34 and 38 mm versions.

Omega Speedmaster '57

The new classic Speedmaster has a slimmer case, a wider range of dial colors, and a hand-wound caliber inside. The case will apparently be slimmer than the previous version, and the 40.5 mm diameter will appeal to more orthodox fans of classic models who tolerate modern interpretations of the dial and overall impression. The sandwich dial has certainly contributed to the slimness. The watch will be powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 9906 with manual winding and a 60-hour power reserve.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

We finally have the Hulk Omega. The classic and time-tested top seller gets a new "injection" in green color. There is no need to write much about this well-known piece; the bezel and dial with laser-engraved waves will be made of ceramic. It will be powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8800 with METAS certification and a 55-hour power reserve.

Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Moonshine

No matter what anyone says, I like gold watches. Especially when a legend like the Moonwatch is given a retro look thanks to the new generation of Speedmaster bracelets. The case will be made of Moonshine Gold alloy. Moonshine Gold is an alloy created in 2019 exclusively for Omega. The ratio of raw materials is as follows: Gold 75%, Silver 14.5%, Copper 9%, Palladium 1%. Two versions will be available: full gold with a green PVD dial and a model with a gold dial on leather. It is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861 with manual winding and a 50-hour power reserve.

Omega Constellation Aventurin

Next up is a truly exclusive ladies' model with a diameter of 29 mm, an automatic movement, and an 18-karat gold case. An interesting feature is the beautiful aventurine in three colors. The extravagance of this model is underlined by diamonds on the dial and bezel, and the entire case is attached to leather straps. The future owner will have to put up with a slightly thicker case measuring 12.2 mm, which is a result of the use of an automatic movement. The watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 8701 with a power reserve of 50 hours.

Omega Constellation 28 mm

For women looking for something more versatile and less ostentatious, there is and always has been the Omega Constellation with a diameter of 28 mm and battery power. Battery power is reflected not only in its convenient "maintenance", which many women will appreciate, but also in its final thickness of 8.48 mm. The model will be available in four colors with a sunburst effect, which does not originate from the center, but from the star located above the six. The Roman numerals on the bezel match the color of the dial. The watch is powered by the OMEGA Caliber 4061 quartz movement.

That was a summary of the news. I am convinced that the best items, such as the Speedmaster Moonwatch, will sell so quickly that they won't even make it to the shelves. I think the green Hulk and Seamaster Planet Ocean UltraDeep will sell very well. Despite everyone praising smaller diameters, such as the Aqua Terra 38, I have my doubts about the future of other models. But wait, there's still Asia... We would like to know what you think about the new products – let us know!
